A group, Opoji Voice Forum has congratulated Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki on his reelection for a second term in office.
In a statement signed by the leadership of the group, they also thanked the Electorates in Opoji, Edo Central and Edo State in general.
“Glory be to God for the successful conduct of the Gubernatorial election in Edo State.
“Lets begin to thank the good people of Opoji kingdom, Edo Central and Edo State for conducting themselves orderly and peacefully in the just concluded gubernatorial in the state.
“We seize this medium to join other well wishers in congratulating the governor elect, Mr. Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki for coming out victorious in the just concluded gubernatorial election,” it stated.
The group said that in this light, they call on the people of Edo State to support the governor Godwin Obaseki in his quest to transform the state to amiable heights.
“We also call on the political gladiators especially from the opposition parties in our community and the state to join hands together with him in moving the state forward and shun politics of bitterness,” it added.
The statement expressed hope that the emergence of Gov. Obaseki will turn around the fortunes of the state and place it amongst the leading economies in Nigeria.
“With the cooperation of all and sundry, we are not in doubt in the capacity of the governor in providing good governance for the teeming population of the state going by his track records of performances,” it added.
They stressed that his re-election is a testimony to the level of confidence that he enjoys among the people of the state, attributable to his wisdom, experience in politics, sense of engagement and devotion to the service and the protection of the interests of the state.
“On our part, we shall continued to encourage the government in doing the right thing at all times for the benefit of all, and also to continue in our prayers and constructive engagement for the governor Obaseki led administration not to derailed from its promises,”
The group said that Obaseki’s victory is divine and urged the major contender, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu to concede defeat and congratulate the winner in the interest of the state.
“On this note, we therefore call on the good people of Edo State to remain calm and be law abiding.,” it concluded.
