Ewu Grammar School Emerges Third Runner-up In A National Quiz Competition
…as Old Boys Association Worldwide Unveils Logo, Inaugurates Caretaker Committee

Students of the prestigious Ewu Grammar School Ewu, Esan Central LGA recently emerged third-runner up position in SEPLAT National Quiz Competition.
The event took place at Imaguero College in Benin City the state capital.
The Principal of the school Mr. Osagie told newsmen in Ewu that his students just returned from a four days National Quiz Competition in Benin City where they won laurels as third runner-up.
The Ewu Grammar School delegation was led by Mr Odion Efezokhae, one of the academic staff of the school, also an old boy and a son of the soil. The Principal said “Our students did very well beating other contestants within and outside the state to emerge third position. All thanks to our teaching staff who labour to impact knowledge in the students and also we appreciate the efforts of the Old Students Association for sponsoring the school team to and from Benin”, he said.
In another development, the Ewu Grammar School Old Students Association (EGSOSA) Worldwide has recently unveiled its logo and inaugurated a caretaker committee to lead the organization for the next six months. Mr Osajele Godsent Jomo, who was nominated as Caretaker Committee Chairman told reporters that “it’s a great opportunity to contribute ones quota to the development of our Alma Mata. It’s a calling that we must hold dearly and work to achieve. We shall synergize with our older body and other chapters to uplift the old glories of the school as well as improve infrastructures and academic activities of the school”, he said.
Mr Jomo added that the worldwide chapter is a conglomerate of members and sets across the globe and shall carry out most of it’s activities via WhatsApp to afford members living in various parts of the world, the opportunity to partake in the organization activities”.
Other members of the caretaker committee include: Bonny Rex Oboh as Treasurer, Hon Musa Celestine and Alex Oboh as Financial Secretary.
The mantle of leadership was handed over by Engr Daniel Jatto who acted as the Organizing Secretary before the inauguration of the caretaker committee.
Ewu Grammar School was founded in August 12th 1974 as a missed school. It won the Bendel State Quiz Competition in 1976. This recent feat is a manifestation of the old academic Excellence of the great school which the Old Boys Association are committed to revive in preparation for the school’s Golden Jubilee Celebration coming up in 2024.
